Home Theatres
Home theatre systems today have become a lot more affordable to most people today due to increased technology and prices for this technology coming down. For most people setting up a home theatre system it is important to know exactly what you want to achieve before you go out and spend the money. Home theatre systems now can be extremely cheap to set up whilst others can range into the tens of thousands.
For any person wishing to get started on a basic home theatre then there are some required appliances such as a television (on the larger scale), surround sound and a DVD player. When talking about these products such as televisions, speakers and dvd players most people will notice the price scales when they walk into any store. Televisions for example can range greatly in price with some models costing up to $10,000.
With the new plasma and LCD televisions on the market today people first need to work out which type of television they want to buy and what they're willing to spend. 42" plasma televisions are generally the standard these days for people starting up their own home theatre systems and they are coming down in price all the time. They are becoming quite light weight with most able to be mounted on your wall which saves you space and can also become a feature in any living room.
Video projectors are another way to go for people who really want the large screen in their living areas but there are some draw backs to this technology. Firstly on most occasions you must have a very large living room to get maximum picture quality and secondly the viewing room in most cases must have controlled lighting. This is not always a necessity these days as the latest models produce brighter images in rooms that are brighter. If you want the best image possible for your video projector then you will want a projection screen. Again these can vary in price with models which can come down from the ceiling via a remote to standard ones. There are even do it yourself projector screens that you can put together yourself.
The source for your picture is important with the newer model DVD recorders offering viewers sensational picture of a much higher quality than VHS recorders. Most good DVD recorders can now be purchased for under $200 which makes them affordable even for those on a modest budget. Analog viewing is slowly being phased out with most television stations moving to high definition picture quality. Most of the new plasma and LCD televisions come with high definition viewing but for some of the others you will need to eventually purchase a set top box.
Another important feature when setting up your home theatre is the speaker system that you intend to use. Again these can vary in price from as little as a few hundred dollars to thousands. Some of them now come as wireless speakers which means you don't need to run cables through the room to achieve great sound quality. Surround sound is important as your sound quality is second only to your picture quality when it comes to a home theatre system.
Last but certainly not least when it comes to enjoying your home theatre system is the seating which you require. Again a normal lounge suite will certainly serve your needs but there are many higher priced seating on the market which can also add to the experience. I would suggest you have seating for you and your family which is comfortable and affordable as being comfortable is important if your spending a lot of time in front of your television.
