MARK RONSON Rating: 4/5Palace Theatre, March 9 ALWAYS a highly credentialled behind-the-scenes player, 35-year-old musician/producer/DJ/model Mark Ronson, thanks to last year's excellent album Record Collection, is now approaching something close to superstar status. And at a soldout gig on Wednesday night, Ronson delivered one of the more refined live pop music experiences of the year. The dapper trans-Atlantic musical all-rounder positioned himself centre stage on an elevated perch to lead a terrific, diverse group of players, rappers and vocalists, including Alex Greenwald and Andrew Wyatt, through a pulsating 90-minute set.Mid-set, in keeping with the party-friendly atmosphere, Ronson took to his decks for an inspired 20-minute DJ slot. But it was the all-in closing song Bang Bang Bang, probably his biggest hit, that brought the house down. Outstanding.
